1.  The Food You Eat (or Drink)

The best foods for quick weight loss diets do not come in a package or a can.  Most people are looking for the latest and greatest cure-all, and I am here to tell you  there is no such thing, and never will be.  However, there are 5 Key Foods to Avoid, and specific foods that you can add into your diet to speed up weight loss.

Primarily, Quick Weight Loss Diets don't work because you usually have to cut back on how much you eat, and that easily translates to eating just a few times per day.  THIS DOES NOT WORK!

I know this is really hard to wrap your head around, but let me explain.

Not eating tells your body it is starving.  Your subconcious, which runs 99% of your bodily functions, tells the rest of your body to slow down its metabolism and conserve energy because it is built for your survival and it may need that stored energy later if the body doesn't get fed.  Then when you do eat, even if it the healthiest meal, it will store those calories as fat.  Also, when there are not many nutrients in the body from consistent meals and correct supplementation, then your body will begin breaking down it's own muscles and bones for nutrients before it breaks down fat storage.  So, even if you do lose weight from not eating, more than likely your are becoming a fatter skinny person.  Is that what you want?

Dr. Brandy's Quick Weight Loss Diets good rule of thumb is to eat 5-6 meals per day.  That does not mean you sit down to a 6 full plates of pasta, steak, bread and cookies.  It means that you are eating 5-6 small meals that are comprised mostly of organic fruits, vegetables, and high-quality meats and good fats.

6.  Exercise

Of course exercise is one of the keys to quick weight loss.  Actually, it is a primary key for keeping it off and feeling great inside and out, but that does not mean you have to spend 2 hours a day at the gym. You can get a good workout in 20 minutes very easily.  

It is HOW you exercise that is the key.

Without getting too scientific, you have hormones that help you burn fat, and hormones that help you store fat.  For Quick Weight Loss Diets to actually work, you must do whatever it takes to produce more fat-burning hormones and stop the fat-storing hormones.  The way you do it is by High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).  

I know that seems like a big term, but don't let it scare you.  All it means is during your 20 minute workout, be it walking, riding a bike, or lifting weights, you are doing intervals of higher intensity work.  For example, if you are taking a 20 minute walk, you break your 20 minutes down into smaller parts. Let's take 5 minute intervals:  Always warm up a few minutes prior to any exercise, the when you are ready to do the HIIT, the first 1-2 minutes walk at a normal pace.  then for the next 1-2 minutes pick it up a notch and begin to get your heart rate up.  Then for the last minute, walk as fast as you can (without hurting yourself) and get your heart rate up a little higher.  If you are not using a heart rate monitor, get your heart rate up to the point of barely being able to have a conversation for that last minute.  Then as soon as your minute is up, slow your pace back down to the pace you used for the first 1-2 minutes. That completes 1 cycle.  For every 5 minutes, the goal is to go slower to faster, back to slower, then faster again, throughout the full 20 minutes.  This type of inerval training helps your body create more fat-burning hormones and speeds your metabolism up. 

7.  Positive Mental Attitude

*REMEMBER:  It was not one thing you did that got you here.  

It is an accumulation of all the unhealthy, unconscious choices you have been making in many different areas of your life.  

That includes the attitude you choose!

There are a number of things you can do to help re-train your brain and ensure a better attitude.  One of the primary things I do is create a vision board and put it in a place I can see it everyday.  This gives you little reminders throughout the day of what you intend on creating.  this comes in handy not only when you are feeling down, yet your subconscious is picking up on it even when you are not looking directly at it, so you are reprogramming your brain to create these things on a subconscious level.  

Affirmations are another great tool to use throughout the day to re-train your brain.  This is the crux of positive thinking.  When you tell yourself positive things over and over, it really does begin to set in.  what you focus on becomes, so focusing on what you desire will lead you to creating the life that you want, rather than putting up with things that do not work for you.

This goes along with what we were just talking about: a mental state of being that creates a sense of love and acceptance for who you are. That means accepting your gifts, talents, AND YOUR BODY!  I know to the depth of my soul how hard this one is.  It is a daily practice that is essential to creating a body you love.  If you do not love your body now, how will you ever?  You could say that "I will love my body when _____", but the truth is that if you do not love your body now, you never will... that is until you change your mind. 

Saying "I will love my body when _____" is saying "My body is not acceptable the way it is, I do not have what I want, and I am going to hold it against myself." 


Holding it against yourself creates resistance and the resistance creates more of what you have.  That means that you could get stuck in an unending loop of self-hatred and shame.  quick weight loss diets certainly cannot have long-term results if you are not loving your body.

There is nothing but right now.  Now, this very moment, is the only moment you have.  You do not have yesterday, you do not have tomorrow.  How you choose to feel about yourself and your body right now is all that matters.  

Begin with a simple affirmation of "I love my body".  Then, allow yourself to FEEL IT.  Imagine what it feels like to truly love your body.  Move through the superficial feelings that have so long been your pattern (shame, disgust, guilt, worthlessness, etc.) and let the love of your body really sink in.  If you want things to be different you have to allow it to be so.  Once again, this is a practice.  That means to get to that place where you believe it, you must do this over and over again.  It could take days, weeks or months, but you will get there if you keep trying.

9.  Energy Healing 

You are more than just your physical body.  In order for Quick Weight Loss Diets to work, you must address the whole you.  that means not only eating right and exercising, but learning what is blocking you on a subconscious and energetic level.  These are the parts of yourself that you cannot see.  They are quite intangible, so they are easily forgotten.  Getting back in touch with the bigger you, the whole you, and healing the parts you cannot see, will allow you to step into your desires faster and more gracefully.
