Genetically modified food is the buzz word of the day, but is it something you should actually pay attention to?
If you could truly resolve your health issues, like Digestive Concerns,
Gluten Sensitivity, Bloating, Belching, Fatigue after eating, and even Food Addictions,
would you do whatever it takes?
If so, you may want to pay close attention...
You may find that your presumed Gluten Sensitivity could be something all-together different.
Genetically Modified Food is created by scientists transferring genetic material of one organism into the DNA of another organism. This engineering creates foods that have specific traits that help the farmers and plants repel pests, survive frosts and grow more food per acre. Sounds like a great thing, Right?
The genes that are used come from bacteria, viruses, animals and even humans and are combined in unnatural ways. The things these scientists are creating CANNOT happen in nature. That means when you eat GMO foods you are eating foods that look like one thing, but in reality may contain the genes of a virus or bacteria that could cause you harm.
One of my vegan patients had a fit when she found out that the tomatoes she had been eating might have been cross bred with a fish.
Most genetically modified food is grown and engineered to endure a weed killer called Round Up. These crops are called Round Up Ready, and gives the farmer free rein to spray unabashedly. the glyphosate (the active ingredient in Round Up) accumulates in high levels in the food that is produced.
Other crops are engineered to produce their own insecticide called Bt-toxin. The crops that are engineered to produce this toxin, produce it in every cell of the plant and food that is harvested, and you eat it...
What do you think it is doing TO YOU if
it is breaking down the gut lining of the insects?
Common Bt-toxin producing plants are corn and cotton, so you can bet that unless you are eating organic corn and cotton (oil) then you are putting this insecticide in your body. Think of the corn chips, tortillas, corn starch (in many processed foods), corn flakes, and high fructose corn syrup (sneaks in even in some yogurts and salad dressings). You may want to even think of the animal you eat and if they are eating corn. Yep, you bet. It Matters. You are what You Eat... And so are they.
And, corn is hidden in places you wouldn't ever suspect, like the wax coating on some vegetables.

There are nine GMO crops currently on the market:
GMOs were first introduced into our food supply in the mid-1990s, and are now present in many processed foods in the USA, and the FDA Doesn't Require the Labeling of GMOs in the food ingredient lists, yet GMOs are banned in Europe and other countries.
It is reported that Monsanto (the major player in GMO production) is attempting to increase the nutritional benefits of the foods they are engineering, yet the two traits that have been added to date have nothing to do with nutrition. they simply now can tolerate pesticides and create their own. This is not a health benefit, only an economical benefit exists here.
Recent research suggests that the Bt-toxin, glyphosate and other GMO components, are linked to five health issues:
In 1996, when the Bt-toxin was introduced to our diet, the EPA categorized these corn plants as Registered Pesticides. You heard me right, the PLANT is considered a PESTICIDE. They promised the toxin was only harmful to the insects, however, peer-reviewed published studies have directly contradicted this promise.
In July 2013, the Journal of Applied Toxicology reported that "modified Bt toxins are not inert on non target human cells, and that they can present combined side-effects with other residues of pesticides specific to GM plants."
Research also has reported that [Bt-toxin] induces necrotic effects via a plasma membrane disruption...within only 24 h. This may be due to pore formation like in insect cells.
Pore formation simply means that the intestinal lining is attacked by the Bt toxin and it makes holes in the intestinal wall. In humans we call this Leaky Gut Syndrome.
What does this all mean?
It means that the Bt-toxin in your
genetically modified food can cause death
to your tissues within 24 hours!
This appears to happen by way of the insecticide creating pores, or holes, in your intestinal lining, leading to what is commonly called Leaky Gut Syndrome. This in turn, can lead to allergic reactions, and even autoimmune disease.

The Institute for Responsible Technology has a plethora of information to help you stay informed about Genetically Modified food.
For a much more detailed explanation, watch the 24 minute video below.
This is quite easy, actually. It just takes a little practice.
First, begin reading labels and avoiding foods that contain the above nine foods, unless it is labeled "Organic" or non-GMO Verified".
Genetically Modified Foods CANNOT be labeled Organic.
However, some non-organic products have been tested and verified non-GMO. They are labeled as such, and these are the foods you want to eat.
Buy your foods from reputable companies, like Purium. We have begun having our products non-GMO Verified! Check it out here!
You can also download the non-GMO Shopping Guide to have in your purse when you go shopping.
Whatever you do, take good care of yourself and your family.
Know that you must take responsibility for your own health,
as you cannot depend on your government to do it for you.
That's a fact.
