There are many different ways to get exercise into your daily routine.  It doesn't have to take a lot of time, nor do you have to hit the gym.  Simply going for a brisk walk for 20 minutes a day will have a huge impact on your mental health.  This is the first piece of the best depression treatment.

For me personally, I Come First.  It is my personal law.  It has to be, otherwise I simply get left out.  I am a nurturer and like to help others, so it is easy to put everyone else before myself.  Therefore, I get up a little early so I can get my exercise in and pack my food for the day (yep, that means I go to bed a littler earlier too).

Set Goals & Reward Yourself!

You've set goals for yourself before, right?  Did it work out?  I am sure sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't, especially if you are having bouts of depression.  I so know that story!  

And when it didn't work out, off to the kitchen I go, feeling like a failure, stuffing down the pain with as many Oreos as I could possibly eat.

Don't Go There!!

You no longer have to keep living that horrific pattern.  There is a reason you keep doing these things to yourself and we need to get down to the root of it all.  There is a way to break the patterns on an energetic level so that your physical reality can be more loving and nurturing. This seems to be the hardest part of it for most women.  Why it is that we don't tend to want to recognize ourselves for our progress and amazingness is crazy.  

Wouldn't it feel so much better to do things that allow you to see yourself in a powerful, fabulous, sexy, successful new light?  

It just might make setting goals and attaining them much easier if you had something you were working towards.

Be Involved!

One of the signs of depression is becoming a hermit.  Keeping yourself closed off from others is quite harmful and may end up catapulting you down a spiral to hell.  For the best depression treatment, decide what you like to do and get involved in your community.  It could be volunteering, teaching a skill, playing a sport (yes, beginners classes do exist), or joining a Mommy's Club or other group. Whatever you decide, be sure that your socializing extends beyond Face Book.  

Alternative treatment for depression

There are many different alternative therapies and treatments for depression.  I tell people to take a holistic approach; that means try a few different modalities and hit your depression from a few different angles. Now THAT'S the best depression treatment there is!

For instance, for me to stay balanced, it is essential that I get regular chiropractic care, a massage every 4-6 weeks, I have energy work done, and get acupuncture.  My body will tell me what I need and when, but for sure I keep it going an a regular basis.  This is what I call "Self Care".  Again, you must change your mindset to allow yourself to be first in your world. 

It took me a while too, but soon you'll get the hang of it and never go back.

It is one thing to say you are going to start a new life for yourself, it is a whole different thing to actually do it.  We have all tried, and I will tell you, without the guides, teachers, coaches and angels that have crossed my path, I certainly would not be alive to tell this story today.  

Do whatever it takes to get support.  You will have far greater success (and much faster too) if you have someone to give you direction, hold you accountable, and cheer you on.
